Swine Flu and Back To School Preparations

Image by Dan Queiroz via Flickr
With back-to-school season just around the corner, federal health and education officials today are not suggesting drastic K-12 schools closures where students have already caught swine flu.ShareUnless H1N1 becomes more deadly, schools will likely stay open during outbreaks.Instead they're releasing guidance for schools that outlines what schools can do while keeping doors open -- and have loosened their recommendation for the amount of time sick students and teachers should stay home.If the flu does not get any more severe, the advice is for those sick with swine flu to stay home just 24 hours after their fever subsides and they are off of fever medications rather than holing up for seven days as previously instructed, Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said today. For additional information see the link below:
Here are some of the details regarding the mandatory swine flu shots that will be given:
The first injection will be for the purpose of turning off the victim's immune system.
The second injection will be for the purpose of loading people with
deadly organisms. And the third injection will be to turn the immune
system back on for the purpose of creating a cytokine storm that will
deal a lethal blow to the body.

I don't know about you, but I feel like the media is making a mountain
out of a mole hill with this swine flu virus. I was at our doctors
recently and was told that the number of cases in our area haven't
risen since the breakout began. It is also no more contagious than any
other flu virus, the main thing again is to use proper hygiene and common sense.

Make sure you and your children wash hands when returning from school, stores, outdoors and before eating. The latest scare is that some anti-bacterial sanitizers have been recalled for caring a harmful bacteria. It seems you can't be too safe anymore, now we are cautioned from using sanitizer, yet the CDC advocates keeping hands clean with regular washing through the use of hand sanitizers. I think I will stick to regular soap and water in our household. How will you prepare?
