A Must Read:The Forgotten Victim

The past month our country suffered another horrific tragedy along the lines of national security and terrorism since 9/11/01.

On November 5, 2009 a Major Nidal Hasan, a psychiatrist in the US Army and a practicing Muslim, took it upon himself to end the lives of 14 unarmed, innocent military men and women, including two civilian police officers and one unborn child at Ft. Hood, Texas military base and wounding 30 others. This is a rather political post regarding several important issues from abortion to national security, which effects all of us.

The thing that outrages me the most is not just the fact Hasan did this with intention, based on evidence currently reported, such as emails with known enemies of our country such as Al Queda and his former imam, spiritual advisor, in Virginia who now resides in Yemen. These emails were monitored by the intelligance agencies over the  past year, dating to at least December 2008! Yet, nothing was done about it and he was not brought in for further investigation because the emails appeared 'safe' in content according to the FBI.

Now we have 14 people dead, including the unborn child of one of the victims, Francheska Velez, who was shot in cold blood on a military base on our own land! This is not just an act of terrorism, this is an act of war, just as the attacks on our country on September 11, 2001! Just because one person committed this act, does not make it any less of a terrorist act than if a group of people hijacked a plane!

Yet our media and our President are yet to acknowledge this violent act as terrorism and they neglect to mention the unborn baby! The military has also left the three month unborn baby out in the charges. It is my understanding Major Hasan will be charged on 13 counts of murder, what about the 14th victim, and 32 additional charges! We do have a protection against violence act, which allows murderers to be held accountable for the murder of unborn babies in the womb due to the federal law, passed in 2004, Unborn Victims of Violent Act, such as the high profile case of Scott Peterson, who killed his pregnant wife, Lacey Peterson a few years ago.

What's most disturbing is that our current President will not call it an act of terrorism, downplays the incident, by saying perhaps Major Nidal Hasan 'snapped'. This is not a case of someone snapping, it was premeditated, calculated and intentional or in the Islamic faith, jihad, which calls the Muslims to warfare and sacrafice. Reports recently have shown that his business card, which he gave out to neighbors, along with other belongings, the day before the shootings had the abbreviations for SOA below his name, which is known to mean 'soldier of Allah'.

Many witnesses have reported that Hasan yelled, "Allahu Akabar", at the time of the shooting, which means 'Allah is great' according to the Muslim religion of Islam. Their god, is not the God the majority of American's worship...but Allah. While I'm not an expert in this area, what I have learned is disturbing to say the least. The Islamic religion teaches hate against anyone who is not one of them, an infidel,a person who does not recognize the one God (Allah).

According to a recent report by the FBI, it has been discovered at least 10% of mosques in America teach jihad. Anyone who converts is considered an apostate, a traitor, and is usually punishable by death, most often by beheading. Debbie Schlussel and Daniel Pipes write extensively on these topics on their investigative blogs, along with David at the JIDF, Jewish Internet Defense Force, a site which is pro-Israel and anti-terrorism, which also reports on issues related to the safety and peace of the nation of Israel.

There is so much more I could say about this case and this issue, however, my main issue is the fact that their is a 'forgotten victim' in all of this and it doesn't look like federal charges will be applied against Major Hasan for his murder of the fourteenth victim. This is outrageous and it is my hope the prosecutors will reconsider the charges and make sure they include the unborn victim in all of this.

It is my understanding the mother was three weeks pregnant; while some pro-abortion people may not consider this a person and would abort a baby this small, it is against the law for anyone to harm or murder an unborn baby this age. This was an act of violence and it was murder, not an abortion, although I would also argue that abortion is murder at the will of the mother, no thanks to people who would call it a choice because of their own negligence.  It is my hope justice is served and time is not wasted on long legal battles and court appeals; and that Major Hasan is found guilty in military court and is punished to the fullest extent of the law, as a terrorist and traitor to his country!
