The Gateway Pundit:
Gulfport, Florida police released video of a horrible racial beating on a school bus.

A white student is seen brutally beaten by three older black teens as he stood up to leave the bus.

"The boy suffered two black eyes, bruising and a broken hand.

WFLA reported, via Free Republic:

Gulfport police recently released surveillance video from a school bus that shows the bus driver’s perspective of a beating earlier this month."

In the video from July 9th, the victim is sitting in the second seat of the Pinellas school bus with his head down. The violence starts as soon as he stands-up to get off the bus.
The bus driver, John Moody can be heard yelling for somebody to try to stop them and calls dispatch for help, “I got a fight. I need help in a hurry, I got a fight I need help in a hurry.”
The punches and kicks continue, and the victim falls between the seats. At one point you can hear his screams on the video. The bus driver yells at the attackers, “leave that boy alone,” but doesn’t try to intervene physically.
Then he again calls dispatch to verify the address. “Get somebody out here quick, quick quick they’re about to beat this boy to death. There’s nothing I can do…please send somebody,” said Moody.
According to Pinellas school bus driver policy the driver’s first duty is to call dispatch, and only has to step in if they think it’s safe. They’re not required to intervene.
Gulfport Police Chief Robert Vincent has publicly questioned the driver’s lack of action even after the offending teens had left the bus. “There was time for him to intervene and or check on the welfare of the child in this case. He didn’t make any effort to do so and that’s what we want to bring to the attention of the prosecutor,” said Chief Vincent.
Three teens were charged in the beating.

An investigation revealed one of the suspects had tried to sell drugs to the victim in a school bathroom. The victim notified officials at the school. Later that day, the suspects and victim rode the same school bus home.
Officials said the victim tried to crawl under a seat on the bus as the suspects punched and kicked the victim for roughly a minute, police said.
The victim suffered a fractured arm.  Police say Joshua Reddin also took the victim's money after the beating.
All three teens are charged with aggravated battery. Reddin is also charged with unarmed robbery.  All three have been released from police custody.
McKnight's father says the attack is not his son's normal behavior.
The bus driver is off the road while Pinellas school officials review his actions.

This is horrible. I am glad they caught the suspects and that there was video available to quickly capture them. While the bus driver isn't to blame for the students injuries and I'm glad they caught the creeps who did this to a younger student, the bus driver should have been able to do more to stop the fight from continuing.

The school policy needs to be changed. The bus driver should have been able to intervene during the attack and definitely should have done more to help the student following the attack. A bus driver should be able to use mace or a taser on students who act violently on the bus until police arrive. This is horrific and another reason I never liked riding on the bus when I was in school. Thankfully I never suffered anything like this or witnessed anything like this but something like this would make me never want to ride the bus again.
